1.8 Blog assignment

Training utilities, no matter the method of delivery, all have one common goal. That is, to deliver pertinant information in an effective way that allows the student to learn the material. Some trends that are taking place, are obviously e-learning taking the place of traditional classroom instruction. In most cases, e-learning is cheaper to deliver, and just as effective. An issue comes in (mostly in workforce instruction) with e-learning when the students are allowed to "retake" e-learnings, which is almost every time in the workforce. The employees do not learn anything with this approach. They will just memorize clicks, or response position, and not the actual content. A good site to reference good tips, and useful tools for training, is http://www.bizlibrary.com/

  1. Does retaking necessarily mean that they are allowed to just reclick the same answers. I feel that most of the apps created for e-learning would have built in features such as randomizing the answers in the situation of a retake. Such as with blackboard. The questions and answers are randomized for each student so no two are identical.

  2. There shouldn't be any "going through the motions" when it comes to job training. The employers should ensure that trainees are learning the material that they need to know.

  3. Ha, you would think that, I know...But we have e-learnings to do every week at best buy. A lot of times it doesn't even have anything to do with my job specifically, but I still have to take it. But they allow us to retake them as many times as we need, some even tell us the answers we got wrong so we can click the right one next time... I agree with you completley though. They need to randomize the answers, or should at least not tell which answers are wrong/right. If they employees aren't learning, what's the use of developing the training in the first place.
